That Southern Mother, LLC started as a side gig, primarily to supplement our family’s income when the children were very young. (Naptime was the most productive time in That Southern Mother’s house.) This side gig provided matching shirts to hundreds of families in the Midlands area of South Carolina visiting various amusement parks. Like many things during the pandemic, TSM shut its doors to focus on more pressing matters, like surviving lockdown with a 4 and 6 year old. In 2022, our owner, Emily, decided to go to graduate school. Over the course of her studies, she discovered she’s really good at planning and picking up coding languages and working with tech. At the end of her program, Emily had the opportunity to make a video game as an intern for her own company, you guessed it, That Southern Mother. The video game was a flop, but Emily discovered a passion for designing software that can be useful. So now, That Southern Mother, LLC offers consulting services, event planning, and when she has time between projects, designing the productivity apps she wants to see in the world.
